Licensing, registration, insurance, permit, and contract requirements vary. Ask for the relevant documentation and verify it with the appropriate state or local authority rather than relying only on a logo or verbal assurance.

Compare process as well as price

Ask who manages the job, how changes are approved, what is excluded, how payments relate to milestones, who handles permits, and how schedule updates are communicated. Put important commitments in writing.
